Original 20th Century Fox Three Sheet Poster (41x81) for the Robert Wise drama, THE SAND PEBBLES (1966) starring Steve McQueen, Richard Attenborough, Candice Bergen, and Mako. The film chronicles naval engineer Jake Holman (McQueen) who arrive aboard the gunboat U.S.S. San Pablo, which is assigned to patrol a tributary of the Yangtze River in revolution-torn China during the Boxer Rebellion in 1926. The film was nominated for eight Academy AwardsÑincluding Best Picture, Best Actor for McQueen, and Best Supporting Actor for Mako. This was Steve McQueen's only nomination for Best Actor. This original three sheet poster (in two sections) is folded and in very fine condition, with some minor fold distresses and pinholes.
