Original New Yorker Films One Sheet Poster (27x41). Folded. Very Fine Plus Condition.
Original New Yorker Films One Sheet Poster (27x41) for SHOAH (1985), Claude Lanzmann's remarkable documentary film of survivor recollections of The Holocaust. Shoah is the Hebrew word which describes the genocide directed against the Jewish People in Europe during World War II. Lanzmann, a French filmmaker, made this nine hour film of interviews with survivors, and it is generally considered to be the definitive Holocaust documentary film. In SHOAH, one sees few feet of the documentary footage shot of the camps, but rather the camera brings the viewer up close to people who lived through the unspeakable. Of particular note is that Shoah is made without the use of any historical footage, and only utilizes first-person testimony from Jewish, Polish, and German individuals, and current footage of several Holocaust-related sites. This American one sheet poster for this important documentary is actually scarce, due to the relatively small U.S. distribution. This slightly irregularly folded copy is in very fine plus condition.
