Original United Artists Italian 79x55 Poster, oriented horizontally, for the Sidney Salkow CinemaScope western SITTING BULL (1954) starring Dale Robertson, Mary Murphy, Iron Eyes Cody and J. Carrol Naish. SITTING BULL is one of the more historically accurate of the many films made about the battle of Little Big Horn. Other films have made heroic figures of George Armstrong Custer, but not this one. Here the hate is palpable between the hate-filled Custer and the famous Sioux chief. Artists De Amicis has used the template of the U.S. one-sheet featuring art of Naish, but the horizontal format emphasizes the panoramic sweep of CinemaScope, with charging cavalry on either side of the Legend. Four-foglio posters are generally oriented vertically. This one is not. Four foglio posters are large format posters printed on two separate panels which are joined together to display as one poster.
