Original Italian 39x55 (two-foglio) poster, folded, for the Alexander Korda romantic drama, THAT HAMILTON WOMAN (1941) starring Vivien Leigh as Lady Emma Hamilton and Laurence Olivier as Lord Horatio Nelson. The Italian title is actually in English, LADY HAMILTON, which is the original British title, also used in France. (We also have the French 47x63 poster for this film.) This is the story of Emma, Lady Hamilton, the unhappy wife of the English Ambassador to the Kingdom of Naples, Sir William Hamilton. She falls in love with the great British naval hero Lord Nelson, leaves her husband and lives adulterously with him. The screenplay is quite good, and the filmÕs cinematography and direction are excellent. Nominated for four Oscars the film won the award for Best Sound Recording. Vivien Leigh is beautiful, charming, and quite sensitive-- especially in her scenes with her then real life husband Olivier. This original Italian poster has great portrait art by Ercole Brini.
