The movie was co-directed by Muppetmaster Jim Henson and Britisher Frank Oz. The film was much anticipated before its release, but was released to rather mixed results. Over time, however, fans of fantasy films have come to regard it very fondly. The two collaborators would go on to make another film, a legendary one, LABYRINTH (1985).
