In this East German film, Sass plays a nurse who dreams of a fulfilling relationship, but her favorite lover (whom she has nicknamed her "elk") only comes to see her a few days each year. And her other dalliances with men, including the boyfriend of her best friend, lead to the suicide of her best friend.
