Warner Brothers Original U.S. Three Sheet Poster (41x81) Folded Very Fine Condition Folded
Original U.S. Three Sheet Poster for the Karel Zeman film THE FABULOUS WORLD OF JULES VERNE (1958). Filmed in the process "mystimation." This is probably an attempt to hitch a ride on the reputation of the animation process called Dynamation, which was a stop-motion animation procedure used by Ray Harryhausen in such films as THE 7TH VOYAGE OF SINBAD and JASON AND THE ARGONAUTS. Jules Verne had been the source of several film adaptations, the most successful of which was Disney's 20,000 LEAGUES UNDER THE SEA. This film, a 1958 Czechoslovakian film is appreciated for its production design, which emulated the line drawings used in many of the Jules Verne books. The story is an adaption of Verne's story, "Facing the Flag". The movie was directed by Karen Zeman. Although the film was made in 1958, it was not distributed in the U.S. until 1961. The condition of this poster is very fine. A very nice example with solid color, only minor pinholes in the corners, good paper integrity. Three-sheets are large format posters which are printed on two separate panels. These panels are joined together to display as one large poster. No fold separations. There are two pieces of masking tape on the borders that need to be carefully removed. MovieArt Austin guarantees this poster to be the original U.S. three sheet for this movie -- vintage, authentic. MovieArt Austin will sell NO reproductions.
