When a bully sergeant beats his buddy to death, Pruitt seeks revenge. While all of the acting performances are great, Clift delivers the best performance of his career. The film was nominated for thirteen Academy Awards and won 8 Oscars, including Best Picture, Best Director to Zinnemann, Best Supporting Actor to Sinatra, and Best Supporting Actress to Reed.
