Original United Artists U.S. Six-Sheet Poster (78.25 x 80.75) for the Guy Hamilton spy thriller, GOLDFINGER (1964) starring Sean Connery, Honor Blackman, Shirley Eaton and Gert Frobe. This has been described as the quintessential, definitive Bond film based on Ian Fleming's novel. While investigating a gold magnate's (Frobe) smuggling, Bond uncovers a plot to contaminate the Fort Knox gold reserve. The character of Goldfinger is the most famous Bond villain and was spoofed in well over 100 other productions, the most famous being AUSTIN POWERS IN GOLDMEMBER (2002). The U.S. six sheet, is, for some reason unknown probably the rarest of the major U.S. James Bond posters. Only a few of these have turned up for collectors over the near-sixty years since the film was released. It is also one of the most elegantly designed. This poster is in very fine condition and has been linen-backed. Beautiful! And rare.
