Original Cuban One Sheet Poster (18x27) for the Manuel Octavio Gomez drama, LA PRIMERA CARGA AL MACHETE (1969) starring Adolfo Llaurado, Jose Rodriguez, and Idalia Anreus. The film received some American distribution under the title THE FIRST CHARGE OF THE MACHETE. The film tells the story of Cuban nationalists who rebelled against the Spanish colonial regime in October 1868. They captured the city of Bayamo and then decimated the Spanish troops sent to put down the rebellion. The principal instrument of the Cubans was the machete, the lowly farm tool that was elevated to the status of lethal weapon in a time of crisis. This original Cuban one sheet poster is in very good condition.
