MGM Original Insert Poster for the western film THE LAST HUNT (1956) starring Robert Taylor, Stewart Granger, Lloyd Nolan, Debra Paget and Russ Tamblyn. The film was fashioned as a starring vehicle for Stewart Granger and as a follow up film for director Richard Brooks, who had garnered notice as the director of the very topical BLACKBOARD JUNGLE. The screenplay was adapted from a tough western novel by writer Milton Lott. Set against the background of the huge hunts for bison which were coming to an end in the 1880s, the movie was filmed almost entirely on location in Badlands National Park and in Custer State Park in South Dakota. Anne Bancroft was orginally cast as the young native American girl in the film, but when she was injured falling off a horse, she was replaced by Debra Paget. The poster is in very good to fine condition, chiefly because there is an extra crease on the poster.
