20th Century Fox Original Italian 39x55 poster for the Henry King directed film LOVE IS A MANY SPLENDORED THING (1955). One of the most popular romantic tragedies of the 1950s, the film starred William Holden and Jennifer Jones as the beautiful Eurasian nurse he falls in love with. Filmed in CinemaScope in Hong Kong, the film is beautifully shot and well directed by Henry King. It's a two-hankie movie however which helped to ease domestic angst concerning interracial love in the U.S. in the social conformity of the 1950s.. This Italian two foglio was used in a cinema in Italy and shows some signs of general use. Of course, it is folded. Very nice art of Holden and Jones by Angelo Cesselon.
