Original Paramount Pictures One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the Irving Pichel war drama, A MEDAL FOR BENNY (1945) starring Dorothy Lamour, Arturo de Cordova, and J. Carrol Naish. This excellent World War II era drama highlights the small-town hypocrisy surrounding heroism. Benny is an outcast in life but becomes a "hero" in death when the town prepares to posthumously accept his Congressional Medal of Honor. Most affected are Benny's father (Naish) and his former sweetheart (Lamour). The film received two Academy Award nominations: Best Original Story for John Steinbeck and Jack Wagner and Best Supporting Actor for Naish, who also won the Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actor. Originally folded, this one sheet poster is in fine plus condition with only minor fold separations. One of the best glamour one-sheets of Dorothy Lamour.
