Harrison plays a misanthropic and snobbish phonetics professor who agrees to a wager that he can take a flower girl (Hepburn) and make her presentable in high society. Everything about the production is superlative - outstanding acting, expert direction, lavish costumes and sets, memorable songs and incidental music, and stunning 70mm cinematography. The film was nominated for twelve Academy Awards and won eight Oscars - including Best Picture, Best Director to Cukor, and Best Actor to Harrison.
