Original Paramount Pictures 1982 Re-Release One Sheet Poster (27x41) for the Steven Spielberg adventure classic, RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK (1981) starring Harrison Ford, Karen Allen, and Paul Freeman. This poster is technically a re-release poster because the film was briefly out of release when Paramount re-issued the picture almost immediately after it closed, as business continued to build. Condition of the poster is quite nice, but it does have a Province of Quebec Censor stamp on it. Not obtrusive in our opinion, but this can be easily removed by a professional. Based on a story by George Lucas, this homage to adventure comics of the 1930s has more energy than three action movies put together. Harrison Ford delivers a memorable performance as the renowned archeologist Dr. Indiana Jones, who is hired by the U.S. government to find the lost Ark of the Covenant before the Nazis find it. Believed to be the repository of incredible energy the Ark is the gravitational center of the action. The film was nominated for nine Academy Awards including Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Cinematography. It won five Oscars including a Special Achievement Award for sound effects editing.
