20th Century Fox Original Italian Two-Foglio Poster (39x55) Folded Very Good Plus Condition

Original 20th Century-Fox Scene Italian Two-Foglio Poster (39x55) for the Otto Preminger comedy, A ROYAL SCANDAL (1945) starring Tallulah Bankhead, Charles Coburn, Anne Baxter, Vincent Price, and William Eythe. Bankhead plays Russian Empress Catherine the Great, who becomes infatuated with a naive and idealistic lieutenant, played by William Eythe. The film was based on a play, "Zarin" by Lajos Biro and Melchior Lengyel. This regal fluff is blessed with "the Lubitsch touch". Ernst Lubitsch supervised all the scenes, directed the rehearsals and worked on the script with screenwriter Edward Justus Mayer. But because of an illness, he was unable to actually direct the film, and that job went to Otto Preminger. It's not the usual Preminger kind of picture, but he acquitted himself well and went on to make many more films for Fox. This rare Italian two-foglio poster is folded and measures 39x55 inches. We have graded it as fine plus. The poster is somewhat delicate and we feel that it is a good candidate for linen-backing. An illustration by Cramer of Charles Coburn pulling a curtain to reveal the romantic moment between Bankhead and Eythe is decorated with a Cupid.
