This is an original 20th Century-Fox Scene Lobby Card (11x14) for the Martin Ritt suspenseful western melodrama, HOMBRE (1967) starring Paul Newman, Fredric March, Diane Cilento and Richard Boone. This brutal western is certainly one of Newman's best performances, playing a white man raised by Apaches. When his real father dies and leaves him a boarding house, he decides to sell it and winds up accompanying the former residents of the boarding house on a stagecoach journey to Bisbee. Newman portrays a quintessential stoic who speaks laconically. Unflappable, until circumstances intervene. The unfolding story deals with racial bias, hypocrisy, greed, nobility, and resignation. Superbly written and acted, HOMBRE is considered by many to be one of the best westerns ever made. Newman is shown here with actress Diane Cilento.
