Original MGM Three Sheet Poster (41x81) for the Mervyn LeRoy musical biography, MILLION DOLLAR MERMAID (1952) starring Esther Williams, Victor Mature, and Walter Pidgeon. This film is the biography of Australian swimming sensation Annette Kellerman, who overcame childhood polio to achieve fame as a professional swimmer and film star in the early decades of the 20th century. She is also known for creating a scandal in 1902 by introducing a one-piece bathing suit at a public beach. Although the usual over-the-top swimming choreography was subdued in this film, Williams still broke her neck diving off a 50-foot tower wearing a golden swimming costume. She spent six months in a body cast before recovering to complete the film. This original three sheet poster is in very fine condition.
