Ryan's Daughter (1970) Original Movie Poster

Original MGM set of 16 color 8x10 lithographs for David Lean's epic tale of romance and betrayal, RYAN'S DAUGHTER (1970) starring Robert Mitchum, Trevor Howard, John Miles, Christopher Jones and Sarah Miles. Set in the wake of the 1916 Easter Rising, mounted by Irish republicans to end British rule in Ireland, the film tells the story of a married woman (Miles) who has an affair with a troubled British officer. The film was somewhat of a critical disappointment when it appeared and characterized as "too slow," but its reputation has grown favorably over the years. They don't make them like this anymore, with a fabulous score by Maurice Jarre, beautiful 70mm photography of the Irish coast, and a wonderful screenplay by Robert Bolt. These were printed in Great Britain, and we believe that they comprise a complete set and that they may have served for roadshow bookings. They are however classified for use in the USA.
